Land and Survey Department

اراضيIn embodiment of the goals of the Royal Jordanian Hashemite Documentation Center and the Land and Survey Department in serving documentation and scientific research, and given the importance of the documents and manuscripts held by the Jordanian Land and Survey Department in Amman regarding the lands of Palestine and Jordan, which are unique and irreplaceable, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the two parties for processing, sterilizing, restoring, archiving, and documenting these documents and manuscripts. This is to preserve the identity of the Arab land in Palestine on one hand, and to ensure the documentation of Arab rights to their land on the other hand.

The restoration and archiving project of the Land and Survey Department documents included the following:

  • Jordanian Hashemite Kingdom microfilm films (sale contracts, rights tables) from 1945 to 1996.
  • Microfilm films of Palestinian lands (lands of 1967 and 1948 and rights tables).
  • Ottoman land registers of Palestine from 1866 to 1916.
  • British Palestinian registers from 1917 to 1948 (claims, Tabu, courts).
  • Sale contracts of West Bank lands 1967.
  • Sale contracts of lands in the Jordanian Hashemite Kingdom from 2004.
  • Maps of the Arab armistice line separating the lands of 1948 and 1967, dating back to 1952-1953.
  • Rights settlement tables (land ownership deeds for all provinces and villages of the Kingdom) from 1930 to 2010.
  • Sale contract records from 2004.
  • State properties trust funds.
  • Work is currently underway on the restoration and archiving of state property documents.
